Discovering Scenery in Dai, Inspiring Love in Heart —Pangs’ Trip to Banna in May
2023-05-31
It is said that Xishuangbanna has the same fantastic view as Southeast Asia.To enjoy this unique and exotic scenery, members from Chengdu and Ningbo branches of PANGS Group all went to Xishuangbanna in May.
Xishuangbanna lies on the border of Yunnan province, which is adjacent to Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. There are lucid waters and lush mountains, forming a picturesque scene of spring all year round, together with religious-tinged pagodas and ethnic minority architecture, making this place full of tropical scenery and ethnic colors. When you walk into Xishuangbanna, it is like walking into the country of Tianzhu, where the monk and his disciples went on their way to get the scriptures. It is neither the dismal sorrow of apricot blossoms, smoke and rain with a cut of cold plum nor a northern country with high winds, flying sand, white mountains and black water, but the treasure-house of nature, the green kingdom and the bright pearl of the South.
During the four-day trip, PANGS members sampled all the Dai-flavored delicacies in Gaozhuang Xishuangjing, and hit the largest and best-colored Starlight Night Market in the Greater Golden Triangle, which has nightly barbecues until 6 a.m. When it came to 2 a.m., the hustle and bustle of the street gives an illusion of catching the morning market at 8 a.m.
Elephants in the Wild Elephant Valley dance awkwardly and adorably, and the tiny ones are especially lively and mischievous, reaching their long trunks into their keepers' pockets for bananas and spraying visitors with water from their trunks. Watching the incomparable Mekong River 7D film at the aquarium gives PANGS people an immersive look at the local customs of the region around the Mekong River. For the daredevils, three or five people team up for an experience of leaping through the jungle, breaking through themselves and sliding from tree to tree along a zip line to experience the rainforest's insects and birds up close. Since having come to this region with strong ethnic characteristics, we must feel the ethnic customs. So putting on the local dresses, PANGS people are immersed in a sense of being princesses at large, princes and marquises.
Remember to take a little time out of your busy life to relax. If you cannot make it to Southeast Asia for the time being, you can follow in the footsteps of the PANGS people to Xishuangbanna, the southernmost part of Yunnan, to feel the unique exotic customs. Although the time of “Visiting Dai and Having Fun Here” has come to an end, let’s look forward to the next time the PANGS people unlock a different landscape.
